Veterinary Surgeon BVSc

Kobus graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Science at Onderstepoort, University of Pretoria, South Africa in 2014. Soon after, he moved to the charming town of Ceres, where he spent 10 wonderful years caring for animals, supporting their owners, and – most importantly – meeting his wife, Suzette.

For him, being a veterinarian isn’t just about medicine – it’s about building genuine connections with pets and the people who love them. He takes time to listen, understand each pet’s unique story, and work alongside their owners to give them the best care possible. His special interests include reproduction, and he’s looking forward to expanding his skills in dry needling, and one day acupuncture.

Outside the clinic, Kobus enjoys simple moments outdoors with Suzette, their daughter and their dog Dory – whether it’s a family hike, a weekend camping trip, or a short run to stretch their legs. Back at home, they are kept on their toes by Tripod, their much loved three legged cat with a big personality. He’s also never short of hobbies, from maintaining his fish tanks and playing guitar, to building a creating new things.

Now joining the East Port family, he’s excited to meet the community’s wonderful pets (and their equally wonderful humans), and be part of their stories for years to come.
